The Waterjet Robot Programmer: creates and edits programs to be used for the trimming of production parts in a controlled robotic water jet cell, using CAD and CAM software; uses software to examine and modify data models; adjusts programs for accuracy; performs machine calibrations; loads and unloads part holding fixtures; and operates the machine.
1. Use interactive CAD and CAM software to program robot to run parts based on a CAD model of the part. 2. Manually program robot to run parts utilizing a teach pendant to touch off on critical points and dimensions to guide waterjet 3. Edit existing programs for fixture adjustments and engineering changes. 4. Load and unload part-holding fixtures using a forklift 5. Operate the waterjet machine to produce sample or production parts 6. Verify accuracy of finished program by measuring part features, either with check fixtures or manually by using measuring tools 7. Share experience, training, and knowledge to co-workers as appropriate.
1. Must have a minimum of one year of verifiable strong performance in college or technical school training with an emphasis on manufacturing or industrial operations. 2. Previous experience with CAD software is preferred, on SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Pro- Engineer, TurboCAD, or similar. 3. Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of verifiable training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. 4. Ability to effectively attend out-of-town training on the use of robot and CAM software and rapidly develop proficiency in their use. 5. Must be capable of reading and understanding measuring devices such as a tape measure, T-square ruler, calipers, and micrometer
Be flexible in working hours; weekend and/or night shift work will be needed at times to meet the production schedule; some overtime work should be expected · Apply math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and trigonometry to perform programming and flat pattern calculations · Demonstrate abilities in communication, organization, setting priorities, working well independently and in a team environment, and being results-orientated · Adapt quickly to change and work under tight deadlines · Be cooperative, respectful, share knowledge, cross-train, take on additional responsibilities, and provide guidance to others on areas of expertise · Use equipment safely and properly, maintain an orderly and safe work environment, and identify/report safety issues, and correct when possible · Follow instructions and work plans when supervised or unsupervised · Conform with all company employment policies · Lift 75 lbs often (less than 1 hour a day); stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, crawl throughout the work day
